As Americans helping Americans, we need to take a clear look at our federal government.  And it isn’t a pretty sight.

It grieves me to say this, but the members of Congress have created such a corrupt system for themselves that there’s no way they can remain loyal to their constituents.

Just take a look at their health care.  They’ve given themselves the best insurance in the country, completely funded by our taxpayer dollars.  And as far as I know, not one of them has turned it down.  In the meantime, the rest of us have to deal with private insurance premiums, deductibles, co-pays, networks, and coverage rules.

How can our so-called representatives represent our best interests when they’re so busy taking care of their own?

And that’s why I think we need to start privatizing our lives.  Between current business practices and the Patriot Act, we don’t have much privacy left.  But we still have individual initiative, and we can use that in very powerful ways.
